20 lessons of General English per week
8 lessons of Tourism / Hospitality modules
plus at least 6 hours per week of private study and project work.
Both courses include real-life case-studies, authentic texts and research
Course 1: Introduction to Tourism (6 weeks)
- Week 1: English for Tourism
- Weeks 2 – 3: Introduction to Tourism operations: transportation, events, accommodation, attractions, destinations, tour operators and travel agents.
- Weeks 4 – 5: Introduction to marketing in tourism: marketing mix, statistics and data analysis, market and competitor analysis, marketing activities and macro and micro economic factors
- Week 6: Review, Project and Presentations: completion of graded assignment and PowerPoint presentation
Course 2: Introduction to Hospitality (6 weeks)
- Week 1: English for Hospitality
- Weeks 2 – 3: Introduction to hotel and restaurant operations: food, accommodation, beverages, facilities, grading and classification systems in restaurants, bars and clubs
- Weeks 4 – 5: Introduction to customer service skills and relationships: corporate philosophy and culture, customer care, expectations, feedback and customer relationships
- Week 6: Review, Project and Presentations: completion of graded assignment and PowerPoint presentation
